This topic became the most popular in Europe. Thus, in London, there are various women’s sports organisations, mental health centres, psychological support services and many other similar projects. The Women’s Resource Centre plays a major role in the development of feminism and equality. What are the main principles of this organisation and do its representatives manage to get the desired result? Learn more at londonka.

The main goal and its implementation

Since it has been repeatedly proven that ensuring the protection of women’s rights is possible primarily thanks to the independent women’s movement, the organisation tries to realise such opportunities. The activities of the Women’s Resource Centre are based on six main principles. Anti-racist feminism is one of them. After all, programmes protecting human rights can’t tolerate a negative attitude towards representatives of other races. Also, great attention is paid to equality, which is the basis for the creation of many similar organisations. Professionalism is important for such activities too. The Women’s Resource Centre strives to ensure continuous development, provide the best quality services and establish effective communication. This goal is closely related to the following principle of cooperation. It is necessary to have a role model to succeed in this field. So, the representatives of the organisation have developed certain mechanisms for sharing the experience with partners. Environmental sustainability and overall integrity also remain important in addressing inequality. All of these principles are aimed at ensuring women’s rights and giving a voice to the most disadvantaged and marginalised organisations. To realise this goal, the Women’s Resource Centre holds various conferences and educational training as well as organises projects and other interesting events.

Variety of events and membership in the organisation

The activities of the Women’s Resource Centre are a powerful force for change. Therefore, its members often organise rallies and events to achieve the implementation of desired programmes. One of these projects is the London Black Women’s Project. Its history has been going on for more than 30 years. During this period, it helped approximately 2,000 women and 1,000 children in shelters. The organisation also pays great attention to the problem of domestic violence. Unfortunately, even in the modern world, there are frequent cases when a woman who has become a victim of violence is subjected to additional moral humiliation during the legal process. Thus, women suffer from repeated psychological trauma. The Women’s Resource Centre has often conducted research on this issue. They have helped to develop certain steps to help women, as well as to present statistical data at important international briefings and conferences. Most women who have experienced difficulties in life need financial support. Therefore, an important component of the Women’s Resource Centre and other similar organisations is funding. Therefore, in 2023, the funding for organisations fighting against violence became part of the programme of the Mayor of London.

Becoming a member of the Women’s Resource Centre means making important changes in society.
