Stella Nina McCartney managed to build a successful career as an English fashion designer. Her father is the legendary singer and songwriter Paul McCartney. However, this is not the case when children lose out to their parents when it comes to talent.

The beginning of the life path
The future designer was born in London on September 13, 1971.
As a child, Stella travelled around the world with her parents a lot. The girl was fascinated by design from an early age.
At the age of thirteen, she managed to sew her first jacket.
When Stella turned sixteen, she underwent Christian Lacroix’s internship.
Education and first steps in the world of fashion
Stella McCartney studied design at Central Saint Martins, Stella’s graduation collection turned out to be very successful. Her friends, supermodels Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell, participated in its creation too.
It is worth noting that she is a vegetarian. Therefore, she doesn’t use fur or leather for her products.
In addition, Stella is among the active defenders of animal rights. She openly declares it and participates in relevant campaigns and events. Also, the designer demonstrates her animal protection position with the inscriptions on her products.
Further development
1997 was marked by her appointment as the creative director of Chloé. She held that position until 2001.
In 2001, McCartney opened a fashion house under her own name. Then she made her debut collection in Paris.

In 2003, the designer released her first perfume called Stella.
In 2007, the designer decided to launch an organic line of cosmetics CARE. She decided to use only natural components, such as green tea, apricot, lemon balm and linden.
In 2008, Stella started creating a new line of underwear in collaboration with the Bendon Group.
November of 2010 was marked by the launch of a children’s clothing brand.
Fashion experiments
In 2016, Stella began experimenting with men’s clothing. In November of the same year, she released her first collection of clothing for men. It was mainly focused on sports and everyday items in linen style.
Charity
On October 15, 2018, Stella announced the opening of the Stella McCartney Cares foundation. It is a charity platform that helps women with breast cancer. Almost immediately after the opening, that organisation provided post-operative compression bras to women undergoing treatment in one of the London clinics.
Collaboration with a legend

Stella managed to start cooperation with the world-famous company Adidas. Moreover, it is a long-term partnership, as it was established back in 2004. The designer and the famous brand started work on creating sportswear for women.
In the winter of 2010, Stella announced the beginning of her cooperation with Disney. Having been inspired by the film Alice in Wonderland, the designer wanted to create a jewellery collection.
Environmental care
In July 2010, Stella appealed to the British Ministry of Defence demanding to stop using the fur of Canadian black bears. It was used to decorate military headdresses.
In 2018, she began cooperation with the United Nations and worked on creating a new approach to running a fashion business, taking into account climate change. Over time, many fashion companies have adopted new models and noted that it contributes to the development of more sustainable business practices.
