Margot Ciccarelli is one of them. She managed to build a career as a successful athlete. She is also a well-known Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu coach. Having studied at various academies, the girl has honed her skills and her every performance becomes a real show. She also adds bright and interesting elements to her fight.
Early years and family
Margot Ciccarelli was born in London on November 17, 1993. Her father is Italian and her mother is Chinese.
Margot spent most of her childhood in London and its suburbs. From an early age, the girl studied Wushu, and later, became interested in Chinese Kickboxing.
For the first time, she tried herself in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, a martial art of Japanese origin, only at the age of nineteen.
Training
It is worth noting that Margot is a graduate of many world academies where she studied the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in detail.
Margot Ciccarelli received her blue belt in Hong Kong and a purple belt in her native London.
In May 2017, Margot joined the famous New York team Unity Jiu Jitsu.
Murilo Santana became her coach. After receiving the purple belt, Margot Ciccarelli became the winner of the IBJJF World Championship and the European Championship twice. Also, she won the Asian Open Championship three times and the Abu Dhabi World Professional Championship twice.
When Margot became a brown belt in 2019, she won the World No-Gi Championship and the European Championship in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
High achievements
It is worth noting that in 2021, Margot was promoted to a black belt. However, that achievement didn’t stop her. She continued active training for six months, preparing for the Abu Dhabi World Professional Championship. As a result, she took second place there.
Later, the girl took part in the Pan American Championship where she also took second place. Then she won bronze in the World Championship.
Conquering new peaks
In 2022, Margot won bronze in the European Championship and reached the finals, winning bronze again, in the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship.
In addition, in October 2022, the girl moved to California. There, she began to train under the guidance of Guilherme Mendes, improving her skill in the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Next achievements
In March 2023, Margot won a silver medal during the IBJJF Pan Championship.
Later, she took part in the IBJJF World Championship 2023 and won third place in the featherweight division. On July 7 of the same year, the girl took part in the IBJJF Asian Championship 2023. There, she managed to win the gold medal.
Interesting facts

It is interesting that while mastering Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu skills, Margot practised various movements of contemporary dance style, hip-hop and circus elements. From the latter, she was especially good at flying trapeze and aerial straps.
As the athlete later admitted, her main goal is not only to win but to perform beautiful and graceful movements. In addition, such elements attract the attention of spectators and judges during the competition.
